#TOMATO HACKED CLIENT 1.8 XTURTLE MOD#
His final release of the original Tomato firmware came in June 2010, by which point its popularity had grown large enough that development and support continued through the user community, resulting in a series of releases (dubbed " mods") by individual users or teams of them that continues to the present day.įedor Kozhevnikov created a notable early mod he called TomatoUSB, which ceased development in November 2010. It was targeted at many popular routers of the time, most notably the older Linksys WRT54G series, Buffalo AirStation, Asus routers and Netgear WNR3500L.

The WNR3500L requires K2.6 builds of DD-WRT ( Update: see "K3X builds").Installation of DD-WRT from Netgear Firmware Do not try larger builds, as this will overwrite required partitions. This router has 8MB flash, but due to Netgear's partitioning, available space is reportedly ~7.3MB. The WNR3500Lv1 traditionally only supports the "NEWD-2_K2.6" firmware, but K3X has been reported to work. Read the Firmware FAQ and Peacock Announcement Which Firmware? Also, builds must be smaller than ~7.3 MB, or you will brick your device. All of the K26 builds have "K2.6" in the filename. The WNR3500Lv1 is only properly recognized using a K26 build (in the broadcom_K26/ directory). This wiki is NOT for the WNR3500Lv2 (install guide here) which is a NAND flash device.
